Meet Interior Designer Seema Sahni

By Neeru Saluja

Our homes are a place where we feel safe, comfortable and they reflect our persona. This is where we grow up, unwind, entertain and share memories with family and friends.

If you feel that you need to bring your home to life, meet entrepreneur Seema Sahni as she launches her new venture “The Interior Designer”, an online interior business store.

At a successful launch in early September at her beautiful home attended by Sydneysiders, Seema displayed her carefully chosen furniture and accessories in an elegant manner. Taking a one year sabbatical from her career at IBM, she is now focussing on her passion ”“ her love for interiors.

“I have always been passionate about interior decoration and my home is a testament to my taste. I chose to set up an online business on 31 July in order to give me the flexibility of balancing my career. I have travelled to Indonesia, Bali, Singapore and Italy trying to source the products and get some inspiration. The items on our website are very exclusive and carefully picked out of hundreds of products”, says Seema.

Businesswoman Seema is also keen to offer styling services from October in order to cater to the needs of her clients. “I’m keen to work closely with my client, view their living style and then suggest how they can style their home. Interior decoration is not about getting everything brand new, it can be stylising their bedroom or living room,” advises Seema.

With a flair for stylish and luxurious items, Seema always tends to give a personal touch to her products. “I’m very fond of flowers and candles. I also like whites and greens, my special fragrances are jasmine and coconut. My home is the best place. This place looks like a resort. That’s why I had my launch at my home. People can relate to it so they can do the same.”

So what are the colours of the season? “Blush and white gold. Hues of blush and gold can be added to your home.   It is very feminine,” advises Seema.

On an ending note, we ask Seema her styling mantra. “Living in luxury is not difficult at all. It’s not only for the upper class. Save up for the item you want. Don’t let it go. Step out of your comfort zone and have an eye for things. And if you can’t, I’m here to think for you!”
