Dr. B. R. Ambedkar bust unveiled at Western Sydney university
The bust of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, donated by ICCR was unveiled at the Law School of Western Sydney University on July 15 by High Commissioner Sh Navdeep Suri and Deputy Vice Chancellor & Vice President (Academic) of Western Sydney University, Prof. Denise Kirkpatrick.
During the event, High Commissioner Sh Navdeep Suri, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Denise Kirkpatrick, Dr G. K. Harinath, Chairperson, Multicultural NSW and Dr. Rupali Bhamare, representative of Ambedkar International Mission Australia spoke about the contribution and relevance of Dr Ambedkar’s thoughts and philosophy in today’s world. Prof. Michael Adams and Prof. Alpana Roy from School of Lawemceed the ceremony.
During the ceremony, High Commissioner distributed prizes to the winners of Essay Competition on Dr Ambedkar, namely ”“ Ms Nishtha Sharma, Ms Snigdha Rai and Ms Sunila Dixit. The essay competition was organised by Consulate General of India Sydney, as a part of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.”ª
