Pallavi Shardas’s double debut!
Indian Australian classical dancer and actress Pallavi Sharda is about to make her debut in two movies of two different genres and languages on the same day! On the 22nd of October Warner Brothers released DUS TOLA in India in which Pallavi plays the role of Geeta – a village dance teacher opposite acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee, a few hours later Reliance Big Pictures will release WALKAWAY across the USA in which Pallavi plays the role of Sia ”“ a fashion designer in New York City.
Pallavi is probably one of the only actors for whom such a double release has happened. She will remain in Mumbai over the next few weeks for the pre-release publicity for Dus Tola, a folktale like film which tells a fable of how greed gets you nowhere. She has used her roots in Bharatha Natyam to train a group of young girls who act as her dance students in the film and her own voice has been used for the Tala in the film.
Pallavi is Miss India Australia 2010 and acts as an ambassador for Indian-Australian identity. She is harnessing the publicity around her films to enhance relations between the two countries.
