Shri Arun Kumar Goel has recently assumed office of the Consul General of India in Sydney as the new Consul General of India, Sydney.

Mr. Arun Kumar Goel is a career diplomat. Since joining the Indian Foreign Service in 1979, he has served in various capacities at Indian diplomatic missions in Bonn, Baghdad, Prague and Dakar. He was Consul General of India in Hamburg (2000-04) and High Commissioner of India in Seychelles (2004-08). Prior to taking charge as Consul General in Sydney, he was working in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi as Joint Secretary responsible for India’s bilateral relations with the countries of South-East Asia Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand.

The Consulate is organizing an interactive session in July with Mr. Goel and the leaders of Indian community organizations and ethnic media with a view to provide him an opportunity for introduction.
