Christmas-New Year Message from Tony Abbott

Tony Abbott

The Hon. Tony Abbott MHR

Leader of the Opposition

Christmas-New Year Message to the readers of

The Indian Down Under

I extend to the readers of The Indian Down Under and the members of the Indian community in Australia all the very best for Christmas and the new year.

The holiday season is a time to reflect, a time to be optimistic and a time to set goals.   It is also a time to be mindful of those who, for whatever reason, are currently not sharing in all of life’s blessings.

To the volunteers in the Indian community who give of their time freely to assist others, I say thank you. You are an inspiration to us all.

Many Australians have done it tough in 2012. The challenges of nature, economic uncertainty and the cost of living have all tested us but we are a strong, resourceful and resilient people. We came through last year and the challenge is to make 2013 a year of hope, reward and opportunity.

During 2013, my colleagues and I will continue to take every opportunity to explain our positive plans for Australia’s future through building a stronger economy with lower taxes, more efficient government and more productive businesses that will deliver more jobs, higher wages and better services for Australian families.

I look forward to working together with your community in 2013 to help all Australians to come closer to being their best selves.

Yours sincerely,

TONY ABBOTT
