The Hindu Council of Australia welcomes all to Deepavali Fair- the Festival of Lights @ Martin Place, Sydney, on 17 October 2013 from 11 am to 7pm. The festival shares the message of goodwill, peace and harmony among the wider Australian community. This joyful Indian festival brings a cultural extravaganza, full of rich colour, dance, music and multicultural activities to the heart of the Sydney CBD.

The festival will feature a number of Bollywood surprises, vibrant dance, rhythmic beats, Henna artist, a delightful chance to have a festival photo taken in traditional costumes, kids’ activities, children performances with dazzling costumes and many free giveaways; this is an exciting chance to experience the joy and celebration of this wonderful festival of lights in Sydney.

Deepavali @ Martin place is a snapshot of the main festival celebration, Deepavali Fair, on Saturday 26 October 2013 from 12 noon to 11pm at the Athletics Centre, Sydney Olympic Park. On that day you will be able to browse through the Indian bazar, taste many exotic foods, able to dance with   rhythmic beats, watch cultural performances all day and see unique ritual of burning effigy of the demon Ravan, symbolising the victory of good over evil and spectacular fireworks. The program will end with open dance floor with DJ.

The Hindu Council of Australia, a not for profit organisation representing Hindus in the country, has been celebrating Deepavali Fair in Sydney since 1999. Hundreds of volunteers have worked tirelessly   for several months to bring the best home grown and international artists with dance and musical   performances filled with vibrant beats and styles.
