Free information sessions during February

Fairfield City Council will run free workshops during February to outline how to apply for ClubGRANTS funding, Council’s Social Change through Creativity Grants, and other Council funding schemes.

Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said grants made a real difference within our City and made our City a better place to live and work. These community development grants provide a range of services and programs to address ongoing issues within the community.

1. General Information Session:  Give an overview about all grants offered by Fairfield City Council, which include Social Change through Creativity, ClubGRANTS and other Council funding schemes.

When: 10 February 2014

Time: Two sessions will be held, a) 10am to noon and b) 6pm to 8pm.

Where: Fairfield City Council’s Administration Centre, 86 Avoca Road, Wakeley

2. Social Change Through Creativity Grants

Applications for the Social Change through Creativity Grants and Mentorship Program (formally known as Cultural Grants) close on 7 April 2014. This program aims to encourage and support creative-based projects that address an issue of importance in the community. One-off grants of up to $4000 are available to not-for-profit groups or organisations.

What: The workshop will outline important grant writing skills and ideas on how to develop grants projects.

When: 11 or 18 February 2014 from 8.30am-3pm

Where: Cabravale Leisure Centre, Broomfield St, Cabramatta

3. ClubGRANTS

Applications for ClubGRANTS open on Wednesday, 12 February 2014, and close on Monday, 31 March 2014.

What: The seminar will entail more information about ClubGRANTS and will run through some helpful tips on how to make an application online.

When: 12 February 2014

Time: Two sessions will be held, a) 10am-noon on information about the program and b) from 12.30pm-2pm, which will run through how to make an application online.

Where: Fairfield City Council’s Administration Centre, 86 Avoca Road, Wakeley

Other schemes

Throughout the year there are also a number of other grant programs available. Some include:

Mayoral Donations Scheme, Mayoral Scholarship Fund, Language and Cultural Awareness Fund, Community Volunteer Fund and Councillors’ Community Fund. For general information on each of these grants please attend the general information session on 10 February 2014.
