Leo Sayer to entertain at 2014 Premier’s Seniors Week Gala Concerts

If you feel like dancing then British singer-songwriter, musician, and entertainer  Leo Sayer performs this March to make all the seniors ”˜feel like dancing’ at Premier’s Senior Week Gala Concerts  announced by John Ajaka Minister for Ageing. Leo Sayers – 1970s star and his evergreen songs are etched in our memories – “Whao whao yeah yeah! I love you more than I can say; When I need you..” as he will sing his hit songs wooing Sydney seniors.

Tickets to the upcoming Premier’s Gala Concerts for NSW seniors will be available from 9am on Friday 14 February.

“The 1970s themed concerts will be held during Seniors Week from 18 to 20 March and all tickets will be free to seniors,” Minister Ajaka said.

“I am delighted to announce international superstar, Mr  Leo  Sayer, will be the special feature performer at this year’s concerts.

“His hits include When I Need You, More Than I Can Say and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, the title theme of the show.

“This year’s concerts have up to 50,000 tickets on offer ”“ more than ever offered,” Mr Ajaka said.

The 2014 Premier’s Seniors Week Gala Concerts will be held from 18 – 20 March 2014. The concerts have been expanded from three concerts to five concerts, allowing up to 50,000 seniors to attend.

The concerts will be held at  Qantas Credit Union Arena, which was formerly named the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Please note that the venue has not changed, only the name of the venue.

All concerts will be free to NSW Seniors, aged 60 years or over. There will be a maximum of four (4) tickets per person.

Five concerts will be held over three days:

  1. Tuesday 18 March – 11.00am  (registered groups only) *
  2. Tuesday 18 March – 4.30pm  (individual bookings only)
  3. Wednesday 19 March – 10.30am  (registered groups and individual bookings)
  4. Wednesday 19 March – 2.30pm  (registered groups and individual bookings)
  5. Thursday 20 March – 10.30am  (individual bookings only)

* Group ticket applications for the 2014 Seniors Week concerts were posted to all registered groups in  December 2013. The deadline for these applications was 17 January 2014. Groups who applied will be advised on the success of their application shortly. Registered groups can call the Groups Information Office on 1300 361 106 (cost of a local call) or email  groupsconcert@facs.nsw.gov.au

Tickets for individuals will be available from 9.00am on Friday 14  February 2014.

People with a lifelong disability or of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent are included as a senior if they are 50 years of age or older.
