This school holidays, let your senses run wild at the biggest celebration of the country coming to the city – the Sydney Royal Easter Show (the Show), 10 ”“ 23 April.
With awe-inspiring entertainment, thousands of farmyard animals and award-winning produce, there’s more fun than ever before.
Cherie Nicholl, the Show’s General Manager Commercial and Business Development, encourages Showgoers to plan ahead to ensure a great day out with family and friends.
“My advice is to head to the Easter Show website or grab a copy of the Official Show Guide in The Sunday Telegraph to help get the most out of your day at the Show,” said Ms Nicholl.
Once inside the gate, Showgoers can treat themselves to hours of entertainment.
Take a stroll along the Animal Walk and visit the Show’s 14,000 animals from beef and dairy cattle, to sheep, poultry, pigs, goats, alpacas, horses, dogs, and adorable baby animals to pet in the Farmyard Nursery.
The brand new night-time production in the Main Arena, Australiana In All Its Glory, takes audiences on a sensory journey filled with live performances from singers, dancers, whipcrackers, lifesavers, rally drivers and MotoX riders, who will all play a part in representing and celebrating aspects of Australian life, history and culture.
The Woolworths Fresh Food Dome is the place to taste test samples from Australia’s top producers. While you’re there, make sure you soak up the spectacular sights of the towering District Exhibits display ”“ the largest display of its kind in the world.
A favourite amongst Showgoers is the iconic Woodchop competition. Showgoers can watch the best axe men and women compete in world-class competitions including a battle against trans-Tasman rivals, New Zealand.
The title of Australia’s best will be on the line in the Australian Extreme Trick Riding Championships. Our country’s best trick riders will gallop around the arena on horses all while performing amazing acrobatics.
New to the Show is 2014 is Dinosaur Adventures. The brand-new, interactive walk-through exhibition gives junior palaeontologists the chance to dig up fossils or get right up close to dinosaurs that breathe, stomp and roar just like the real thing.
