Geoff Lee welcomes Modi to Sydney
State Member for Parramatta, Geoff Lee was honoured to join thousands of members of the
Australian-Indian community to celebrate the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra
Modi to Australia – the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Australia in over 28 years.
“I met Modi back in 2013 at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit when he was Chief Minister. I was
humbled by Modi’s humility, charismatic personality, and hard work ethic and I can safely say
he still holds those characteristics today as Prime Minister,” Geoff said.
Mr Modi has been in Australia for the past five days on his inaugural visit to our country. His
visit is of major historic significance.
Geoff also celebrated Prime Minister Modi’s presence in Australia with local residents at our
”˜Little India’ in Harris Park.
“Modi represents hope for the people of India and for Indian-Australian’s. He has brought
positive change to India and his popularity can be seen in the presence of over 15,000 people
at Allphones Arena for his official reception,” Mr Lee said.
Geoff spoke about Prime Minister Modi’s significant visit to Australia in the NSW Parliament.
