New film releases in January

PK

Anushka and Aamir Khan in PK. Anushka has been in Australia watching her boyfriend Virat Kohli play against Australia and spending some quiet time away from the huge controversy being kicked in India as PK broke all records having generated over 600 crores and still going strong

Success of PK has bypassed all records of previous Bollywood films with over 200 crores generated from international screens in countries such as US, UK, Canada and Australia. Here the movie was on 35 screens across the country and was the highest grossing foreign films with cinema halls reporting back to back full houses with people being sent back disappointed. “Some have claimed to have seen the movie three times,”says the upbeat head of local film distributing company Mind Blowing, Mitu Bhowmick-Lange, “It has been a phenomenal success.”

“The key thing is to keep in mind is that there are less than 400,000 Indians in total so it’s a great result,” she said indicating that the latest figures indicate that over 100,000 people in Australia have watched it.

PK also took number one spot on the Christmas Day at the Australian box office.

Mitu Bhowmick-Lange’s Mind Blowing films have made Bollywood films a regular feature at Hoyts and Events cinemas with people always looking forward to what’s next as they plan and make sure they don’t miss any well known film releases especially Aamir Khan’s.
