Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier David Elliott, Liberal Legislative Council candidate Reena Jethi, Premier Mike Baird, Seven Hills Liberal candidate Mark Taylor and Blacktown Liberal candidate Raman Bhalla.

Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier David Elliott today announced that Baulkham Hills resident Reena Jethi will form part of the NSW Baird Liberal team at the state election on 28 March.

Mr Elliott said Mrs Jethi, a school teacher born in New Delhi, is a product of the skilled migration reforms undertaken by former Prime Minister John Howard.

“Reena migrated to Sydney 15 years ago,” Mr Elliott said.

“Since arriving in our nation, Reena has made a great contribution to the community and I know Reena will ensure her commitment to the community will benefit the entire state if she is elected to the Legislative Council.

Mrs Jethi said she was drawn to the Liberal Party as the party which most shared her personal values.

“The Liberal Party is the party of equal opportunity,” Mrs Jethi said.

“The Liberal Party’s commitment to the family as well individual initiative and enterprise has formed the bedrock of our nation for generations and I hope to help our state to grow as a wonderful place to work and raise a family.”

Mrs Jethi, who is married to a local bank manager and is five months pregnant with their second child, will be focusing on education and ensuring a better deal for families.

Reena joins Blacktown candidate Raman Bhalla, a Blacktown accountant born in Punjab, as part of the Liberal team for the NSW election on 28 March.
