Yesterday, the night before today’s semi-finals saw cricket fever hit Maharaja’s Haveli in Quakers Hill. A die hard collection of fans, media, bhangra dancers, TV channels and others joined Sourav Ganguly as he shared his opinions on the game.
We share some excerpts from last night of what Saurav said .
The Australian squad
On Australia: They will also play the same eleven that beat Pakistan. They may play another spinner, but that’s doubtful. It’s a side packed with good, fast bowlers.
Dhoni and his team
On India’s strategy: India will be unchanged. We will go with the same winning side. For us, the spinners will come into play as the game progresses. The aim would be to bat first, put the runs up and then put Australia under pressure.
Virat Kohli
On Kohli: He is our man. He had a great series against Australia; his record against Australia is outstanding. He is one of the biggest players in one-day cricket and at the moment he will be pumped up. I really feel that Kohli will play a big knock tomorrow.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Michael Clarke
On Dhoni vs Clarke: It’s a battle between two very good leaders. MS Dhoni is ahead because he has already led the team to three big world championship wins. – one World Cup, one T20 World Cup and one Champions Trophy. Clarke has played in a World Cup-winning team but has not captained a World Cup-winning team.

Swami Army creates a war like zone as Sydney community warms up to today’s semi final
Swamy Army and dhols are out for an exciting semi final match between India and Australia
On the pressure: It’s a big game tomorrow at the Cricket World Cup between two of the best teams of the competition. For me the pressure will be on Australia. It’s a home game at the SCG. They say it’s going to be more Blue than Gold but still the pressure will be on Australia
