Hindu Women’s Council forum on domestic violence on November 21

Hindu Women’s Council of Australia’s Domestic Violence Forum on November 21, 2015:

HWCA has announced this very important forum on an issue of urgency in the Indian community and invite members of the  Indian community to join in this session that discusses  domestic violence:

“Each and Every One of us has a role to play in speaking up against Violence of any kind within our Community and Society.

We would like to invite you to a forum on exploring violence in our community – encompassing how it relates to men & women from a human rights perspective, and how it affects the community as a whole, from a personal , social and collective level.

Date: Saturday 21 NOV

Time: 1.30- 4.30pm  

Place: Strathfield Town Hall  

We have a number of guest speakers, interactive activities and the vision that this initiative can move toward strengthening relationships and our community – so all members can live in safety, respect and with the dignity of their human rights upheld.

The Hindu Womens Council of Australia, supported by Strathfield Council,  will be hosting this forum, and presenting will be many informed and experience people who will offer insights and perspectives on this important topic.

Speakers will include:

Dr Sundar – Medical General Practitioner & Community  Specialist  in DV

Chandrika Subramaniyan – Solicitor,  Women Lawyers Association NSW,  Exec. Committee Syd West
