Archana Kunnath, 30, jumped in front of a speeding train while holding her three-year-old daughter Shreya (pictured together) at Harris Park station in Sydney’s west (inset) on Wednesday. The former assistant software engineer died at the scene and Shreya is currently in a critical but stable condition at Westmead Hospital. Ms Kunnath had celebrated her wedding anniversary just days earlier. Her husband Sujith Vaikakkara shared a picture of the couple on his Facebook page celebrating ‘five years of togetherness’, just four days before the tragic incident.  

The young mother was an assistant software engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, where her husband Sujith Vaikakkara also worked.  “The TCS community is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with Archana’s family and friends at this time,” CEO Deborah Hadwen said in a statement.
