Time running out to register interest for ABS Census data seminars
Time is running out to register interest to attend a Census Data Seminar. Find out what the 2016 Census tells us about our communities and Australia from July 2017 when the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) holds a series of free Census data seminars in each state and territory. |
The seminars will follow the official release of 2016 Census data on 27 June. Registrations will close on 22 April so the schedule can be finalised.
Seminars will present an overview of the 2016 Census of Population and Housing results, provide data product training, and assistance with data requests. As part of the return of Census data to the community, and in acknowledgment of Australians’ participation in the Census, each seminar will focus on local results from Australia’s richest data set. Information provided in the seminars will also illustrate the importance, benefits, and uses of Census data to shape Australia at the national, state, and local level over the next five years. Data users, including government and community organisations, are encouraged to register their interest in attending the seminars, along with less frequent users keen to learn more about the value of Census data and its uses. This is a great opportunity for key data users from all corners of Australia to engage directly with Census data. Select events in each state and territory will be webcast live so those unable to attend in person can still participate and learn more about Census data. Register your interest in the free seminars via the ABS website. The program of dates and locations of the Census data seminars will take into account the registrations and be set in the next few weeks. Once finalised, information will be available at www.abs.gov.au/census. |
