Richa Sharma needs no introduction to her fans world wide. Richa Sharma, the Indian play back singer, came to Sydney, with her gifted powerful voice to perform in a live concert. She is an amazing and a consummate performer. Hailing from the Haryana, Richa’s been in the Industry for more than a decade, a well known play back singer of Indian cinema besides film music; she is well known for her devotional songs, Sufi and ghazals. She is the voice behind many Bollywood hit numbers ”˜Mahi ve’, ”˜Ni main samajh gayi’, ”˜Zor ka jhatka’ and Sufi number ”˜Sajda’.
Richa Sharma captivated Sydney audience at Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool on May 19. It was simply an unforgettable night ever. SWRG Events, Chopra Productions and Fortune world travel brought Richa Sharma and gave Sydney a fantastic everlasting memories concert. The show started late but it was worth the wait. Audience waited patiently for Richa to take the stage when charming Nickey Sehgal and very talented Nitin Madan welcomed the audience and invited her. Gorgeous Richa Sharma’s entry was absolutely amazing dressed in green attire, the moment she appeared she captivated her audience with her heart warming smile, her appearance brought glamour, the magic, the audience lit up in the collected glow of thousands of cell phones trying to capture the moment.
Richa started the show to an energetic opening with “Ni main samjh gayi’ followed by ”˜Mahi ve’, the audience sang along as Richa began engaging the audience through the song. Watching her move and sing on stage was undeniably surreal. Richa acknowledged the love her fans adorn her with, which was the very reason she has continued to perform till today. Richa promised to fulfil all the audience requests as they screamed their requests from all corners of the Whitlam Centre Hall.
With a mind blowing performance Richa was undoubtedly at her best. And there was no better way to continue the performance with none other than the hit numbers ”˜Jag soona soona lage’, ”˜Sajda’, ”˜Lambi judai’. She also included other hit songs from such as ”˜Kamli kamli’. ”˜Kahin aag lage’, ”˜jab koi baat bigad jaye’ and ghazal ”˜Aaj jane ki zid’. My favourite moment was when she sang ”˜Mere Maula’ it was as if time stood still. Richa had the audience sing along with her as every one devotedly followed. Richa’s popular number ”˜Billo rani’ brought the audience to their feet. She had them completely mesmerised till the last song.
While the audience had anticipated Richa Sharma’s musical talent, what was unexpected was the superb sound provided by her Bollywood orchestra, Richa recognized their skills in praise of the Orchestra, which included Piano, Drums, Bass Guitar, Clarinet and Flute players. They were incredible. Highlight of the show was a professional singer and the voice India 2 contestant Paras Maan’s brilliant performance. He entertained us with beautiful solo and duet songs with Richa. Sydney’s own Swastik dance group gave fantastic dance performance.
Though this night was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended, it’s a pity that not many turned up perhaps due to overlapping of many shows in Sydney on the day. Event organisers Neerav Rastogi and Manjit Singh Chopra and their team must be thanked for bringing Richa and organising this concert, they promised to bring it again next year.
