Time is running out to nominate someone for the 2019 Australian of the Year Awards as nominations will close at midnight, Tuesday 31 July 2018.

To have your say in who should be considered for the Awards, go to  www.australianoftheyear.org.au  and complete the nomination form, telling us who you think should be considered and a little about what they’ve achieved or why they are inspiring.

There are four categories in the Australian of the Year Awards:

  • Australian of the Year
  • Senior Australian of the Year (those aged 65 years and over)
  • Young Australian of the Year (ages 16 to 30)
  • Australia’s Local Hero

It only takes one nomination for someone to be considered for the Awards, but there must have a formal nomination submitted for them.

From the thousands of nominations submitted by the public each year, 128 are recognised at State and Territory level.   The State and Territory Awards recipients then go on to be finalists for the national Awards announced on 25 January 2019 in Canberra.

Your nomination could find the next four Australians of the Year.

Nominate online now at  australianoftheyear.org.au  or call 1300 655 193 for assistance in submitting your nomination. Nominations close midnight on Tuesday 31 July 2018.
