Scott Morrison meets Modi at ASEAN

Prime Minister Scott Morrison met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the 14th East Asia Summit and 3rd Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Summit.

Positive discussions on a range of issues including Prime Minister Morrison’s visit to India in January 2020 and strengthening the bilateral relationship, particularly on trade and investment and security, and  the potential in science and technology and recycling. RCEP was also a focus of discussions.

They discussed a strong commitment to collaborate in oceans, with Australia strongly supporting India’s Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative.
