Kurmas Pesto Pasta

Ingredients1 1/2 cups fresh chopped basil leaves1 tsp salt1/2 cup olive oil (reserve 1 tbsp)3 tbsp pinenuts, lightly toasted and chopped3/4 tsp asafoetida powder125g grated parmesan cheese575g pasta linguine  
DirectionsCrush the basil with the salt and half the olive oil in a food processor. Add the rest of oil and the pine nuts and three quarter of the cheese. Blend until smooth. Add a little water if too thick.Please one tablespoon olive oil in a small pan and place over a moderate heat. Sauté the asafoetida powder in the hot oil. Add this mixture to the food processor.Cook the pasta in plenty of salted water until cooked but firm. Drain thoroughly. Pile the pasta on a warmed serving dish, pour the sauce on top, sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese, offer to Krishna and enjoy!
