LIHPBA celebrates March 2022 by opening up of Harris Park in full swing
What a difference two years make!!
If March 2020 was the Closure of all activities by the businesses in Harris Park due to the onset of Covid -19 pandemic
March 2022 was celebrated by Little India Harris Park Business Association (LIHPBA) with great fanfare.
As coming to age with this Pandemic and opening up of streets again was felt necessary for the people visiting Harris Park as well as businesses serving them with a taste of India in Sydney.
The Harris Park‘s premiere business body had a month full of activities and welcomed every one with Colour, lights, performances, music, dance and delicious food in our Little India and announced opening up of street festivals and celebrations.
The events were
- Art and Culture Fiesta 2022
- Colours of the Subcontinent Festival 2021 – conducted now in 22
- Small Busines Month Seminars
- Stronger Together – Colours and Light Festival 2022
The celebrations were attended by dignitaries that included, Minister Mark Coure MP Multicultural NSW; Dr Geoffrey Lee MP Minister Corrective Services; Mr Sanjay Muluka Vice Consul Indian Consulate; Inspector Rob Mcdonald Parramatta Police Command; Ms Jason Yat-sen Li MP Strathfield; Clr Sameer Pandey Deputy Lord Mayor Paramatta Dr G K ; and Harinath CEO Multicultural NSW included various Indian councillors.
LIHPBA thanked Multicultural NSW, Art and Create NSW and Small Business Month Initiative by NSW Treasury by supporting in conducting the events.
Following businesses are part of LIHPBA: The Taj Fresh Food – Rice people, Radhe Supermarket, Dosa Hut, Chatkaaz, Select Insure, Akshara Jewellers, Green Farm Market, India Bazaar, Pathan Supermarket, Kaaya Beauty Parlour, Momozz Indian Restaurant, Mad Down Under, Australian Visa and Migration Consultancy Services, Ginger Indian Restaurant, Dr Ballu Mobile Expert, A2B Restaurant, Dosa Plaza, Shree Dhaba, Shalinis’s Indian Fashion, Chill and Grill, and many more contributed to welcome people back on streets of Harris Park – aka Little India.
The events were ably assisted by Jindeep Photography, Harjinder Singh, DJ Ranjith, Bala Subramanium, Harsha Ramachandra, Varuun Tiwwari, Ankur Verma, Friends World TV, Ashwin Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Michael Thangavelu, Vipin Punia, Parag Shah, Patrick Soosay, Hursh Deshwal and Jai Rao.
Three talented women brought music, melody and fashion to the Wigram street. : Radhika Rao, Nalini Kumar and Dr Samiksha Sanghvi kept us all entertained and mesmerized.
Stage lighting was managed by Kangan Sharma, DrNeeraj Duggall, Jyoti Rao and Anu.
Madan Lepecha, Vijay Jogia,,Kanan Shah , Holiya Dance Group, Csmart Consultancy, Parai Band, Lebanese drum group, Hetal Kothari-Bhavsar , Bina Trivedi , Brinda Shah Anu Sanghvi, Maharshi Raval , R Nagaraj, Michael and team called as Mick sharmonix and the magical taxi all kept audience asking for more.
Given the people participation and good turnout in spite of inclement weather conditions, Little India marches ahead and we thank one and all for their participation and support
