Here is a little sneak review of a mesmerising concert. An evening that made you dance with performers staging an absolutely amazing show of graceful dance moves with style, energy and spirit.

Sydney’s very own Saaz band and well known singer Dinesh Kumar opened the show and warmed up the audience with popular Bollywood hit song “Chahiye thoda pyar”. The audience sang along as Dinesh Kumar began engaging the audience. Merina Suresh took the stage next and her rendition of ‘Tere bin jiya jaye” was a standout.

Sydney’s well known vocalist  Soumitra Sarkar’s ‘Bachana ae haseeno’ hit the crescendo when the audience could be seen singing and dancing along with his energetic performance. Sydney’s rising star Nivi Rajaram’s popular number “Pyar karne wale” and Harmit Chopra’s S.P Bala tiribute songs such as “Pehla pehla pyar”, “Bahot pyar karte hai” and “Sach mere yaar” were hit with the revellers. Singers also sang few other memorable duets such as “Baazigar o Baazigar”, “Aaj kal tere mere”, “O haseena zulfo wali” and many more.

Swastic Institute Dancers

Highlight of the evening was energetic performance by our local talented Swastik Institute of Dance group. Organiser Harmit Chopra said “We feel privileged and proud to deliver such delightful showcase’ with the help of our community members. We are looking forward to host our next Bappi Lehri tribute concert in November this year”.

The show ended with a thunderous applause with audience begging for an encore. I have attended many concerts from different cultures and nationalities, but this concert ‘Bollywood Dhamaka’ was something different. Itwas a special evening and fantastic efforts from the local artists of Sydney.
