Green slip refunds on their way to Seven Hills

More than 15,000 motor vehicle owners in Seven Hills, Kings Langley and Lalor Park will be the first in Sydney to access their CTP Green Slip refunds as part of a targeted pilot through Service NSW.

The NSW Government has recently overhauled the old CTP Green Slip Scheme to create a more affordable, lower cost scheme. In addition to lower premiums, the Government is providing refunds to the owners of the four million vehicles with insurance premiums calculated based on the cost of the old scheme.

Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello said that, as a result of the Government’s reforms, over  $1 million  will be returned to vehicle owners within postcode 2147. The average refund is $73.

“The new CTP scheme is delivering a big win for motorists through lower premiums, greater protections for those injured on the road and refunds on premiums paid during 2017,” Mr Dominello said.

Member for Seven Hills Mark Taylor said: “The new CTP scheme is delivering significant savings for local motorists. In the suburb of Seven Hills, the average Green Slip price this year will be $157 lower than the average last year.”

Vehicle owners can check their availability via the Service NSW website. Alternatively, they can visit a Service NSW centre at Blacktown, Parramatta or Castle Hill or call the Contact Centre on  13 77 88.

Refunds will be available to all eligible NSW vehicle owners within the next few months.

This is one of a raft of NSW Government measures helping to ease cost of living pressures for households. The Government has also introduced free car registration for regular toll users, cheaper hospital car parking, and the FuelCheck app.
