Down under making waves in Bollywood
Pallavi Sharda is our own Bollywood brand from down under who has made it to the top as the lead actress of ‘Besharam’ with the hottest hero of Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor as the lead, a movie which is slated for a big release in October.
Pallavi an Aussie Indian is a Bharatnatyam and Kathak exponent who danced to ‘Bartender’s album – a remix of the famous ‘Chalte Chalte’ song from the movie ‘Pakeezah’ by musician and composer from New Zealand Mike McCleary who has also made Bollywood his abode and was commissioned to make an album for Amitabh Bachchan’s 70th birthday.
Pallavi, having worked in ‘Dus Tola’ with Manoj Bajpai and ‘Love Breakups Zindagi’, is now hopefully going to make it big – keep our fingers crossed.
Born in an academic family of IITians with her parents both working as professors in Melbourne, Pallavi first did her Law degree following her academic genes and to fulfill her parents’ dreams. Soon she packed her bags to go and make Bollywood her home and her belief in herself and conviction has paid off as she says in an interview that her mum used to say that ‘I used dance in her stomach’ as Pallavi turned out to be quite a handful baby and had started to learn dance from the young age of three.
