AHIA elects new executive

 

”˜Australian Hindi Indian Association’ (AHIA) had its AGM on Sunday the 30th October.   This years’ AGM had a tight election as two candidates stood for president’s and vice-presidents’ position. AHIA has been an active Indian organization incepted in the nineties with growing needs of Indian community   in mind. It has established membership  that  aims to cater to the needs of the aging Indian seniors as well as the young families in the 21st century.

AHIA publishes a regular monthly Seniors Newsletter along with some general AHIA news and information.   The new executive aims to revive its ”˜Sandesh’ magazine and organize activities for younger and the newly arrived families from India.

The following Executive Committee has been elected for the next 2 years: President  – Santarem Bajaj; Vice President  – Tilak Kalra; Secretary  – Gurdeep Sekhon; Treasurer – Prakash Nathani; Executive Members – Braham Prakash Sharma, Jagdish Dua, Ira Kapila, Omila Bir and  Sunil Sharma.
