NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell was today presented with a signed Australian women’s

cricket shirt by Indian-born World Cup-winning captain Lisa Sthalekar as thanks for his support of the team.

The Premier sent each member of the team a hand-written note congratulating them on their victory.

The Australian women’s team defeated the West Indies in the 2013 World Cup Final in Mumbai by 114 runs.

Mr O’Farrell was thrilled to receive the shirt and it will take pride of place in his office.

“It was an honour to receive to gift from Lisa. She’s a great role model, especially for young women,” he said.

Lisa retired from professional cricket after the World Cup victory and the Premier

wishes her all the best for the future and continued success for the Australian
