Adani Chairman Gautam Adani, big dreams big projects

Adani is  in news in India during the election fever and we have Adani  making waves here in Australia too as India’s energy needs rise.

An approval for a 16.5 billion coal and rail project in Queensland producing 60 million tonnes a year of thermal coal to be used in power stations is a whopper for an Indian group ”“ the Adani Group. The project also includes a 189-kilometre rail line north west of Clermont and will cart 60 million tonnes of coal from Abbot Point port to Carmichael using a combination of open-cut and underground mining.

Though the project comes with conditions attached which   Adani will have to meet like compensating the landholders affected by any harm to water supplies. Adani Chairman Gautam Adani welcomed the approval and Premier Jeff Seeney said, “The project has the potential to create up to 2500 construction and 3900 operational jobs which would be significant to the future economic prosperity of that region and to all of Queensland.”
