HOLI

It is with great pleasure that we send our best wishes to everyone celebrating this year’s Holi festival.

Holi is an exciting occasion for Hindus and the wider community. Originally a celebration of the changing of seasons, Holi marked the transition from the cold winter to the colour and warmth of spring.

It is a  time for celebrations and happiness, for singing, dancing, and the joyous Holi tradition of throwing coloured powder.

Holi is a wonderful opportunity for our Hindu community to reconnect with other followers in Australia and around the world. And through these rituals, Holi remains a very vibrant feature of modern, multicultural Australia.

On this special occasion, the Federal Parliamentary Labor Party wish to give thanks and pay tribute to the Australian Hindu community for the outstanding contribution it has made to shape the cohesive and successful nation we enjoy today.

Australia’s story is driven by the individual narratives of its people, from all cultures and religions. This diversity is of great value as it builds our prosperity and reinforces our ties with the region.

To all those celebrating, Labor wishes you a very happy, safe, and fun Holi.
