Is this a case of déjà-vu? Is it Wimbledon or US Open? Is it July 2015 or September 2015?

The results have been almost identical in Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.

Like in Wimbledon two months ago, two Indians did themselves and all us Indians proud. They are Sania Mirza and Leander Paes who combined brilliantly with Swiss champ Martina Hingis.

Let’s call it India ”“ Switzerland Bhai-Behen!

Partnering former Swiss great Hingis, India’s Sania Mirza dressed in red, won the Women’s Double title.

India’s veteran Leander Paes, aged 42, also lifted the Mixed Doubles title partnering Hingis.

Top seeded Hingis and Mirza beat Australia’s Casey Dellacqua and Kazakhstan’s Yaroslava Shvedova in the Women’s Doubles Final in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

Earlier, fourth seeded Paes and Hingis defeated Americans Bethani Mattek-Sandes and Sam Querrey 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 in Mixed Doubles Final.

Hope this trend continues for Indian tennis, of course with help from Swiss star Martina Hingis.

Can’t wait for the Australian Open in Melbourne in January 2016, can you? Will there be a Grand Slam hat-trick for the terrific trio of Sania, Martina and Leander?
