Diwali atop the harbour bridge
The opera house proudly lighted in golden yellow light celebrating Diwali on November 12 this year. But who could think of Diwali atop the harbour bridge.
Well the dancers of Sanskriti dance group danced dandia that glowed in the night on top of the harbour bridge.
The world-first performance was attended by members from the Hindu Council of Australia and OFBJP Australia, including Hindu Council of Australia Chairman, Prof. Nihal Agar AM and OFBJP Australia President, Balesh Dhankhar.
The harbour bridge authority was quite happy to celebrate the festival of Diwali as dancers dressed in the harbour bridge climb grey suits fitted with flashing lights scaled the 134 metres high bridge climb and danced there celebrating Diwali.
The Bridgeclimb partnered with HCA and organised the event.
Definitely next year we can ask for special colourful Diwali outfits for the dancers and of course Diwali fireworks should be in the offing, we hope, soon.
