Enthusiastic Indian fans (as always) at the Bill O’Reilly stand when the last ODI was being played at the SCG on January 23 that is today.  It is as if their prayers were answered when India beat Australia to score a consolation win in a series they lost by 1-4.

The last ODI was a close match as India scored the required 331 runs with two balls to spare, thanks to Manish Pandey’s maiden century. Captain M S Dhoni had slowed down the earlier pace set by Shikhar Dhawan (78) and Rohit Sharma (99) but his towering six in the last over before getting out on the next ball opened up the game for Manish Pandey to score a boundary and two runs on consecutive balls to score the much hoped and prayed for Indian victory. The jubilant Sydney fans left the cricket ground all smiles, hugging, shaking hands with everyone and waving IndianDSC_0163 s flags!
