Multilingual Poetry Slam

Who are you? Where do you come from? What do you believe in?

Got something to say? Speak Up!

People from across sydney will perform poetry, share stories, croon lyrics, or monologue their ideas about identity, culture and community”¦in their native language!

The Multilingual Poetry Slam, a production of Word Travels, celebrates Harmony Day and World Poetry Day by creating this opportunity for people to express themselves and their culture in their own words.

Host and performing writer, Miles Merrill is joined by multilingual spoken word artists in a night of linguistically diverse poetic adventures.

Everyone is invited to sign-up to perform and original writing in all languages is encouraged. The winner of the slam gets a spot in the Australian Poetry Slam NSW Final in October and judges are chosen from the audience on the day of the slam.

The event is free for performers and $15 for audience members with an optional dinner & show package for $60/70.
