This year the United Indian Association Inc. is offering its support to the Australian Football League (AFL) TOYOTA Multicultural Festival which is being held on July 9 from 11am to 7pm. There are lots of cultural items presented by various multicultural groups along with some Indian cultural items.

President of UIA, John Kennedy says, “We have the Punjabi rapper L-Fresh the Lion singing live at the festival and also Australia’s Got Talent ‘Justice Crew’ – pop music group winner of 2010 Australia’s Got Talent will also be appearing live. This year in the month of August we do not have the Australia India Friendship Fair and instead we will be hosting India’s independence Day Dinner which we will announce soon.”

“There will also be the same stalls and performances before the AFL game which will start at 2pm. I suggest that Indian community should all come and support this partnership and the festival which will be held at Cathy Freeman Park located in Sydney Olympic Park. As part of the festival there will be a celebration of Indian culture with fun, music, dance and food, “ John said, adding that UIA has been widely advertising to the Indian community through Facebook.

Almost 10,000 people are expected to attend the fair which aims to promote friendship and goodwill as well as celebrate multiculturalism.
