Jazba 7Well known multitalented singer Avijit Sarkar needs no introduction to his fans in Australia. His rendering of golden old songs at concerts always makes us feel nostalgic. Avijit’s stage shows are always packed with energy and his music. Sadiq Rehmani is a well known Sydney guitarist and singer who performs alongside Avijit, a talented musician of Jazba band. Srijani Dan and Rucha Lange, both are professional singers in Australia, with a passion for singing having performed in many concerts in Sydney.

Show commenced with a classical number by Rucha Lange ”˜Sunio ji’ followed by ”˜Yara sili’. With a mind blowing performance Rucha was undoubtedly at her best. Srijani Dan, who loves to experiment with different genres of songs, she captured audience attention with beautiful song from 70s ”˜Bahon mein chale aao’ listening to Srijani’s soothing voice was a sheer delight.

Jazba 2It was insurmountable when Avijit also sang ”˜Bahon mein chale aao’ with an exquisite mixture of classical music. With each song number he played harmonium and orchestrated the band and miraculously managed to engage the audience. Rucha Lange and Sadiq Rehmani enthralled the audience with popular Bollywood song form 80s ”˜ Kya mausam hai’ they drew loud cheers from audience. The show ended with powerful performance ”˜Albela Sajan’ with a thunderous applause with audience begging for an encore. Performers received standing ovation by the audience.

This is a rare opportunity to see such a wealth of amazing musical talent on one stage. Good lighting and perfect sound system by Abdul Sajwani made their performance electric. What was unexpected was the superb drumming by Jazba band drummer Rakesh Swami, Abhijit Dan’s magical fingers on tabla, Vishal Lakhia playing on piano skilfully, Seemanto Nath rocking bass guitarist. A brilliant musician flutist and saxophonist Emanuel Lieberfreund blew the audience away.
