Aarzu Singh is Miss India Australia 2017

Aarzu Singh,  20 years old Australian pharmacy student from Gold Coast, Queensland is Raj Suri  Miss India Australia 2017 winner.  In addition to English, Aarzu speaks two more languages, Hindi and Punjabi.

Aarzu Singh was selected on the basis of her overall performance at the official auditions and the talent workshops in Melbourne and Sydney. The winners announcement was made by Australia’s Bollywood talent mentor and consultant Raj Suri. The announcement was made at a pre judged event for the media and Australian Spring Fashion at the races at the beautiful Australian Turf Club, Members Area at the Rosehill Gardens, Sydney on 27 September 2017.

Miss India Australia 2017 will represent Australia in the Miss India Worldwide grand finals in USA on from 3 – 8 October 2017. Miss India Australia Runner Up is Mallika Raj from Canberra.

Other Indo-Australian beauties who made it to the winners list in the following categories are: Miss India Australia 2017 Photogenic, Anniki Chand from Brisbane; Miss India Australia 2017 Best Talent, Ratika Palat  of Melbourne; Miss India Australia 2017 Professional, Kamini Balachandran  of Melbourne and Miss India Australia 2017 Congeniality is Noor Anand from Melbourne.

The six Raj Suri  Miss India Australia 2017  finalists were joined in by The Global Style Australian models Yana and Dana at the iconic Australian location at the Rosehill Gardens, Rosehill, NSW, Australia.

Raj Suri said: “Every finalist has been selected for her individual strengths. They represent diversity and have confidence to be who they are, celebrating their multidimensional personalities,” as he thanked the parents of the contestants.

The young models and contestants represented the great Australian diversity and glamour at the races wearing beautiful Australian and Indian fashion. The contestants looked stunning in white Indian Sarees and Churidar fashion wear. They were photographed with the ace Australian jockeys,  Kerrin McEvoy  and  Tim Clark  in the classy Australian race wear, courtesy  Rose Noir  fashion, which was the highlight of the beautiful Sydney spring day.

Aarzu Singh is being sponsored, trained, mentored by Sydney based image and Bollywood consultant Raj Suri and will be exclusively represented via Raj Suri associate talent office in Mumbai and in Australia through The Global Style Australia.

Raj Suri, a photographer/media/film producer who founded Miss India Australia in 2001, says it is the original talent search in Australia for women of Indian origin, affiliated to the Miss India Worldwide which is now entering its 26th year and is represented by over 30 countries. The Miss India Australia Talent Search has had participation from the local Australian Indian community and is now evolved into the platform of choice for the young culturally aware Australian women especially to make inroads into the Indian Films in Bollywood and fashion industries.

Former Miss India Australia winners who have made it big are Vimala Raman (acted in 42 films including 2017 box office hit Malayalam film ”˜Opaam’ opposite Mohan Lal; Pallavi Sharda (‘Besharam’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor);  Zenia Starr, Miss India Australia 2013, has been seen in the Australian Film  Backyard Ashes, TV Commercials, with three releases in 2018 and indie Bollywood films  My Birthday Song,  Pratichayya. Another talented one is Nibedita Pal hain ”˜Hotel Mumbai’ featuring Dev Patel. Nibedita, Miss India Australia 2015, has recently completed MTV India SplitVilla Series and is pursuing TV in India

Miss India Australia was part of a documentary shown on SBS TV Australia in 2007 called “The Glamour Game – the pageant”.
