Enter Open Day VIP competition at Australian Defence Force Academy to discover your leadership style

The  Australian  Defence  Force  Academy (ADFA) is encouraging young Australians to discover their personal leadership style, with the return of the ADFA Open Day  VIP competition.

The competition aims to attract young Australians interested in gaining military and leadership training while receiving an undergraduate degree in in the fields of Arts, Business, Science, Engineering and Technology from the University of New South Wales.

Now in its fourth year, the competition offers three lucky entrants the chance to win an experience of a life-time ”“ a two-day trip to Australia’s only Tri-Service academic and military training establishment.

Open to everyone aged 16 to 22 years old, the competition requires entrants to complete a short quiz to determine their leadership style and explain in 50 words or less, via an online form, why they would be a great future leader.

Commandant ADFA, Brigadier Cheryl Pearce said it is a privilege to be able to give prospective trainee officers, who demonstrate promising leadership potential, the opportunity to immerse themselves for two days at ADFA and consider joining the  Australian  Defence  Force  through the Academy.

“The ADFA Open Day competition allows young Australians the opportunity to discover what the Academy can offer as a pathway to a diverse range of military careers, with a world-class education. This is their first step towards a future career as a leader within the  Australian  Defence  Force, and beyond.”

The winners will receive return flights to Canberra, two nights’ accommodation at a 4-star hotel, a merchandise pack and the chance to take part in a range of exclusive activities not on offer to the general public at the ADFA Open Day on 25 August 2018.

This may include a VIP tour of the Academy’s academic and military facilities, a chance to tackle the over-water obstacle course, and exclusive one-on-one time with trainee officers to learn more about their lives at ADFA. Ten runners up will also receive an ADFA merchandise pack.

ADFA Open Day attendees will have the opportunity to browse military displays and learn more about the Navy, Army and Air  Force, watch aerial displays featuring military aircrafts, experience a helicopter simulation, witness an armoured personnel carrier section assault, and receive invaluable course information and career advice from ADF personnel and UNSW staff.

Entries for the ADFA Open Day VIP Experience competition are now open and close 19 July 2018. Winners will be contacted at the end of July.
