Two famous Sharmas had contrasting weekends

What a contrast in their fortunes last weekend! It was a lost weekend for Dave Sharma, the Liberal candidate for the seat of Wentworth in Sydney. He lost narrowly to the Independent candidate Kerryn Phelps.
But for India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma, it was a fabulous Sunday night. Against West Indies in the first One-Day International (ODI) at Guwahati yesterday [Sunday], he smashed 15 fours and eight sixes in his electrifying 152.
Rohit Sharma brought up India’s eight-wicket victory and his sixth ODI 150 with a towering six. He had added 246 spectacular runs off only 186 balls with skipper Virat Kohli (140 runs, 21 fours and two sixes) for the second wicket.
It was Virat’s 36th ODI century and Rohit’s 20th.
After losing the Test series 0-2 by huge margins, West Indies revealed their batting skill by scoring 8 for 322 in 50 overs yesterday. Their batting hero was young Shimron Hetmyer, 106 runs, hitting six fours and six sixes.
It was a challenging task for India to chase down 323 runs but in a sensational spell of non-stop hitting by Rohit and Man of the Match Virat, India reached the target with ridiculous ease, cheered on by a huge crowd. India triumphed by 8 wickets with 47 balls remaining.
India leads 1-0 in a series of five ODIs, the next one is at Visakhapatnam on Wednesday the 24th October.
