Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi
25 January 2019: Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is an upcoming Indian historical biographical film based on the life of Maratha Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. It is directed by Krish and Kangana Ranaut and produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain and Nishant Pitti. The film stars Kangana Ranaut in title role.
Principal photography on the film began in May 2017.The film is scheduled to be released on 25 January 2019.
A special screening of the film was organized by Zee Entertainment for His excellency Shri Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Cultural Centre on 18 January in presence of Kangana Ranaut and her team before release of the film on 25 January 2019. After watching the film the President felicitated the artists and crew of the film.

Thackeray
Thackeray is an upcoming bilingual biographical film written and directed by Abhijit Panse, made simultaneously in Marathi and Hindi. Following the life of Bal Thackeray, the founder of the Indian political party Shiv Sena, the film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the eponymous person and Amrita Rao as his wife. The film is scheduled for release on 25 January 2019, the 93rd birthday of Bal Thackeray.

A young girl Rajpatiya of lower caste is molested by a Brahmin, upper-caste boy Chander. The issue quickly gets political mileage and predictably, Chander gets bail and other benefits that accompany lack of witness in the case.
The girl’s brother, in the process of saving the life of local politician, hits Chander. He is convinced by the local politician to slice off the nose of the boy accused”¦ an ultimate insult”¦ the perfect revenge!!
Girl’s brother gets provoked and slices off the nose of Chander…but the girl’s father claims responsibility and accepts the blame of slicing off the nose of the accused.
It’s a significant event where a Dalit has taken classic revenge. Though the father pretends that he is saving his son. He actually chases the glory of getting his name mentioned in the newspapers and being the pioneer who engineered the plot to slice off the nose of the accused and successfully executed it.
The father claims that it is his Tarpan”¦ his offering to his previous generations who have suffered for no fault of theirs.

Lafange Nawab
The story of Lafange Nawaab depicts the father-son’s relationship and the truth of fake friendship.
The story revolves around Yug and his father. His father is a businessman and always wanted his son to be his successor but Yug has a musical band with his 4-5 friends and they play at small events which his father consider it as trivial. He insists Yug to join his business and leave the band as his friends are not his true one. They are with him till he has money and fame. To teach him a lesson his father plans a fake murder of Ammie who lives at their house. He assures him (Yug) that in the process of cleaning the pistol he accidentally murdered Ammie and asked him to dispose the dead body with the help of his friends. But none of his friends, whom he considered as his best friends, come forward to help them and finally they both dispose the body. His father insists him to check the dead body of Ammie as they both were supposed to get married. When he checked the sack bag, there was a dummy instead of Ammie’s body. His father then reveals the truth that he created a fake murder scene to realize him about his fake friends. Yug apologized his father and they both return to their home. As soon as they reach home they found someone has informed the police. Singhania tries to convince them it was a fake murder and wrong news and was quite assure that the information must be shared by Yug’s friends. The police take them to the murder spot and found Ammie’s dead body. In the murder of Ammie, police arrest Singhania and this is the climax of the film. Who has murdered Ammie?

It was presented as Opening Night Film on April 2009 at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. It is scheduled to release after 10 years on 01 February 2019. The film’s release was halted for ten years due to production related issues and was Akhtar’s first acting role. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman.

Parking Closed
